The major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics has already taken shape since President Xi Jinping assumed China's top leadership, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Tuesday.

"President Xi has put forward a whole series of new thinking, new ideas and new steps and pointed out the way forward for China's diplomacy," Wang said at a news conference on the sidelines of the national legislature's annual session.

The goal of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics is to help to realize the national dream of national rejuvenation and built a community of shared destiny for all mankind, said Wang.

The world is so big, the challenges so complicated, as the world is looking forward to voices and answers from China, and China must not be absent from international affairs, Wang said quoting President Xi’s New Year speech.

"We will work with the international community to contribute the world peace and stability and prosperity and progress of mankind," Wang added.
