China's top legislature appoints senior officials

BEIJING - China's top legislature on Saturday appointed three senior officials who were earlier replaced from the posts of provincial Party chiefs.

The National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee at the closing meeting of its bi-monthly session appointed Qiang Wei as deputy head of NPC's Internal and Judicial Affairs Committee.

Qiang was secretary of Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) before being replaced by Lu Xinshe on Wednesday.

The top legislature appointed Luo Zhijun as deputy head of Environmental Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of NPC.

Luo was secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and he was replaced by Li Qiang on Thursday.

NPC Standing Committee also appointed Wang Rulin as deputy head of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the NPC. Wang on Thursday was replaced by Luo Huining as secretary of CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee.
