From the Wei Dynasty (220-265), this eaves tile has adopted the patterns of lotus and monster. The cross-arranged characters read: riches and honor forever.

In the Tang Dynasty, eaves tiles became simply ornamental. This kind of lotus tile was most common, and inscriptive tiles vanished.
