An exhibition at the National Museum of China gives a comprehensive reflection on 98-year-old scholar Jao Tsung-I's academic and artistic achievements.

The display of dozens of written letters and papers offers a glimpse into his studies of Chinese literature, poetry, archaeology and history. Also on show are his ink-and-water paintings and calligraphic works, as well as derivatives such as teapots and furniture that were created based on Jao’s art work.

Born in Guangdong province, Jao lectured at several universities at home and abroad. He is recognized as a master of Sinology and a versatile artist. He lives in Hong Kong, where he is an honored professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The exhibition runs until June 12.
