CHINA and US, DIFFERENT, BUT NOT DISTANT is the message of a video on a large screen overlooking Broadway and 47th Street in New York City's Times Square. The 30-second video started running Tuesday and will run 200 times a day during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit. Made by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the video shows symbols of Chinese and American culture, including Chinese calligraphy, an American cowboy, a Peking opera singer and Western and Chinese chess boards.
