Auto Special: Audi quattro Cup: 20-year commitment to golf sport
The first tournament of Audi quattro Cup in China started in Shanghai with a tee-off by famous Chinese professional golfer and Audi Vorsprung Circle member Liang Wenchong. 

The Audi quattro Cup golf tournament was initiated in 1991. To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organized more then 750 tournaments with 90,000 amateur golfers.

More than 1 million golfers have taken part in Audi quattro Cup tournaments during the last 19 years.

Since its introduction in 2004, the Audi quattro Cup has become the largest amateur golf tournament in China.

The 2010 Audi quattro Cup will hold sub-competitions and the national final based in Audi's service network in 95 cities. These events are expected to attract more than 5,000 Audi users and golf enthusiasts.

On May 7, the Audi quattro Cup 2010 Golf Tournament kicked off at Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai.

Selecting Shanghai as the site for the first tournament expressed Audi's warm wishes for the Shanghai World Expo.

Ninety-six Audi car owners and potential customers from Shanghai, as well as 60 media staff joined the tournament.

Xin Hua and Li Jieli won the championship and they will represent Shanghai to attend the Audi quattro Cup China Final in September.

Audi Vorsprung Circle members, renowned Chinese professional golfer Liang Wenchong, world-class pianist Zhao Yinyin and famous Chinese actress Chen Shu attended the tee-off ceremony.

The Audi quattro Cup has long been the world's top international amateur golf tournament, attracting tens of thousands of amateur golfers.

The only golf event named after a technology, Audi quattro Cup got its name from Audi's exclusive four wheel drive technology.

Since its birth three decades ago, quattro has been leading the four-wheel-drive technological revolution in the auto industry.

Today, the Audi quattro Cup in China has become an interactive platform for more than 600,000 Audi users and golf enthusiasts to make friends and share golf techniques. Through this platform, Audi not only popularizes golf's culture and spirit, but also brings its Chinese customers the quality lifestyle advocated by the company.
