No one is really suggesting Jay Chou and A-mei are an item, but tongues have been wagging after they were caught chatting intimately on a flight from Shenyang to Taipei last week.

The Mandopop stars were seated next to each other and, like a loving couple, shared their headphones and listened to music together. The pair had previously appeared at an event in Liaoning province. A-mei's agent admitted the stars were good friends, but added that if they really were going out with each other they would have sat separately so as to avoid rumors.

Every October, pink ribbons are waved as part of a campaign to make women aware of breast cancer and the importance of screening. This year, as usual, fashion magazine Trend's Health features three naked female stars on its cover, in black and white, with pink ribbons covering their "exposure points".

What's different this year is that Li Yuchun (aka Chris Li) has joined actresses Hai Qing, Zhang Yuqi and Timimi Chen by becoming a "B cover girl". The tomboyish Super Girl winner of 2005 shows off her femininity by exposing her shoulders for the alternative cover girl shot. Netizens often refer to her as "Brother Chun" because of her androgynous appearance and have been making fun of her new look. On Sina Weibo, one fan twitted: "This proves men can also suffer from breast cancer." It's kind of tasteless, perhaps, but hey, this is popular culture.

Diving queen and national treasure Guo Jingjing appears set to retire and has been busy moving into a luxury residence in Beijing, rather than training for the Asian Games in Guangzhou next month. Her new pad is said to cost 15 million yuan ($2.3 million) and was bought by the family of long-time boyfriend Kenneth Fok.

Chinanews.com is also reporting the 29-year-old Guo has been featured on a United States website, sans her bathing suit. Infrared technology has been used to take the pictures and video clips of the diving star, thereby giving the appearance of nudity. The clips have been widely circulated on the Internet, but have been banned by the authorities here. Even so, websites like Youku and mop.com have run pixilated excerpts as "news" items.

Fok is said to have gone ballistic over the images, while Hong Kong police are investigating who is responsible. Guo is not the only diver to have suffered from this invasion of privacy. Other divers featured on the US porn website include Guo's diving partner Wu Minxia, Russia's Yulia Pakhalina and Australia's Melissa Wu.

Finally, Edison Chen is back! Officially. He will take part in a comeback concert on Oct 23 at Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium, along with Anthony Wong and Sammi Cheng.

"A nearly three-year-long departure from the entertainment industry makes me feel nervous about the upcoming live performance," Chen said. "So, I invited my godfather Anthony Wong to collaborate with me. I want him to be there when I finally make it."
