China Patent Week will be held from Nov 7 to 13 in 31 provinces and cities across China, organizers announced at a press conference in Beijing last week.

With the theme of "implementing the national patent system, promoting transformation of economic development and accelerating development of a more innovative China", this year's event will highlight exhibitions, trade and forums on low-carbon patented products and technologies.

Now in its fourth year, the event organized by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) will display modern low-carbon technologies in seven fields including new energy, energy conservation and modern services, said Ma Weiye, director general of SIPO's patent management department.

Chongqing will serve as the main venue for the annual patent awareness week. The 7,500 square meter Chongqing exhibition is expected to attract some 300 exhibitors to showcase their latest high-tech inventions. More than 100,000 people are expected to visit the show, said Yuanjie, director general of Chongqing Intellectual Property Office.

Activities hosted outside Chongqing will be tailored to meet the needs of local markets. In Gansu, the event will center on the training for using patents as collateral in bank loans to promote industrialization of technologies. In Henan, college students and teachers will be the focus of the event.

Other regional events will include lectures on patent laws and regulations and staff training at industrial parks.
