Building on history

What's new

Tianjin municipality's City Express recently published a series of reports about the hundreds of colonial buildings throughout the city.

The reports feature interviews with previous homeowners' descendents and historical records to reveal little-known stories. Most of the Western-style buildings belonged to celebrities in the previous century.

The series comprises more than 200 reports and is expected to be compiled into several books. The books are scheduled to land on shelves next year.
