 An inmate surnamed Jing at a detention house in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, presents roses to his girlfriend as they get married at a local civil affairs bureau on Monday. The 35-year-old Jing, sentenced to a jail term in July, is the city’s first prisoner to be allowed to marry while in custody. His girlfriend, surnamed Zhao, applied to prison officials for permission to marry Jing, saying it could help him be a better man.[Provided to China Daily] |
