Gran, 82, collects trash to pay dead son's bill

Li Jialuan, 82, packs the plastic bottles she has collected at her home in Shushan District in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province, July 9, 2012. Li, who receives a retirement pension of 2,500 yuan ($392) a month, still goes out to collect recyclable trash every day to pay a 390,000 yuan medical debt for his sick son who later died. Li did not tell her granddaughter about the heavy debt at the first and started to collect recyclable trash in 2010, which can bring an annual income of more than 20,000 yuan. As Li's story spread, a lot of donations followed, but after consulting with her granddaughter, she eventually decided to pay the debt by their own efforts. [Photo/Xinhua]
