"My father loves photography. For more than 20 years he never gave up the hobby. He has the same attitude at work-painstakingly working in one position for decades and keeping the passion for his job despite the loneliness," she says.
Wei Centao, Wei Gensheng's colleague in Shanghai Construction Group, says he is dedicated to both his work and his hobby. "He would never sacrifice his work to take a beautiful photo," he says.
In Wei Centao's view, Wei Gensheng is a typical Shanghai man who is devoted to work and passionate about life. "He takes photos, collects rare stones and cooks nice meals for his family," he says.
But Wei Gensheng is humble about his photography skills, saying that he just "takes advantage of his unique working position".
"If there is anything special in me, I think I have an eye for beautiful scenes," he adds.
There are a total of 16 tower crane operators working at that height. Many are also interested in photography. "You just can not help taking out cameras-it is a natural response when you are in the midst of amazing beauty," he says.
