With a fashion design theme, 751 Fashion Echo, a new Chinese creative center launched at 751 D-Park on June 28, integrates its unique industrial resources with technology, fashion, art and culture.
So far, four companies have established themselves at the new pavilion. They are 751H.N.LIN Design Center, Rose Studio, Italian Living Experience and Arena Deluxe.
“The opening of 751 Fashion Echo will create a bridge and provide a new platform for cultural communication. It gives more opportunities for Italian artists and architects to take a closer look at Chinese culture and to know more about China,” Alberto Bradanini, the Italian Ambassador to China, said at the opening ceremony of 751 Fashion Echo.
751 Fashion Echo services as a platform and will play a significant role in the process of cultural exchanges.
“Promoting the cooperation between the domestic and overseas cultural industry and the development of China’s fashion and design market should be the main aim for 751 Fashion Echo. Thus, we should not only focus on introducing foreign design ideas but bringing foreign design companies to China,” said professor Li Dangqi from the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University. Li hopes 751 Fashion Echo can help link international fashion with common people’s lives while connecting fashion design with the design industry. At the same time, he expects this area to attract fashion and creative industries to seek greater business relationships.
Cross-cultural interaction opens up new areas and brings new vitality into China’s fashion design market, which conforms to the tide of cultural globalization.
Alberto Bradanini, the Italian Ambassador to China is quite confident with the future of China’s culture industry. “China is developing at a high speed. We are willing to co-operate with China to create the future,” he said.
“I expect 751 Fashion Echo to develop gradually towards internationalization and industrialization and step towards high-end service and fashionable products in the right direction”, said Ji Peng, the director of 751 Fashion Echo.
751 Fashion Echo is intended to create a platform for the exchange of diverse cultures and fashion design styles throughout the world. Thus the combination of Western modernity and Chinese tradition is the most striking feature of the cultural pavilion.
The show “Inheritance and Eternity” on the first floor is a prominent example, which combines Guo Pei’s haute couture with European antique furniture. What the former interprets is the beauty of oriental art, while the latter presents a thousand years of European history and culture, which together displays a blend of Western and Chinese styles. “The combination of furniture and dress is really interesting. Usually, you only see a piece of furniture, but there is a combination of function and fashion,” Agnes Fries, a Swedish product designer said after she visited 751 Fashion Echo.
According to her, fashion, design and art flow freely without borders. “If you see the furniture exhibition here and also the art pieces by the painter, many of them work with color and shape, which is universal. Those stories are very intriguing for everyone,” she added.
