Chinese shares close lower Wednesday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed lower Wednesday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index decreased 1.01 percent, or 20.8 points, to end at 2,044.92.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.5 percent, or 122.88 points, to 8,063.8.
