Happy Valley theme park opens in Tianjin

Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Co Ltd opened a sixth theme park, Happy Valley in Tianjin.
The theme park is the largest in China in terms of indoor floor area, covering 350,000 square meters.
Ren Kelei, corporate general manager, said the company expects to continuously invest in the Tianjin project, in a bid to build it into a leading entertainment destination.
Besides Tianjin, the company has set up other theme parks in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu and Wuhan. According to corporate figures, in 2012 the five Happy Valleys received 13 million visitors.
Last year, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town received 24 million visitors, up 7.5 percent year-on-year, making the company the eighth largest theme entertainment operator worldwide.
Executives of the company said Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town expects to grow into the fourth-largest in 2015, with total assets passing 100 billion yuan ($16.3 billion) and profits exceeding 10 billion yuan.
