Fresh undergraduate students, who are between jobs, are being offered an opportunity to be flight attendants and undergo security training.
China Eastern will hold four-day job interviews, starting on Aug 18, to hire flight attendants as well as security staff.
"China Eastern welcomes female applicants to apply for the position of stewardess and part-time security guards, so that there will be more female security guards working on China Eastern flights," the Shanghai-based carrier said.
Flight attendants must be able to handle unruly passengers as well as deal with any potential security threat, said Zhang Yuhong, an official with the company's passenger cabin services department, in an earlier interview.
In December 2011, the first group of 20 China Eastern stewardesses took security training.
