BEIJING -- The Chinese central government has recently allocated 3.68 billion yuan ($597.40 million) for people relocated over large or medium-sized reservoirs, according to a Ministry of Finance statement issued on Monday.
This was the third quarterly input of this year, the statement said.
It follows a policy that each relocated person should receive 600 yuan every year for 20 years from July 1, 2006 and the funding should be dished out every quarter.
The central government has so far has pumped 134.28 billion yuan into supporting those relocated over large or medium-sized reservoirs, the statement said.
The funding has grown at 11.3 percent annually, it added.
