Chinese business circle pledge involvement in APEC

BALI, Indonesia -- The Chinese business community highly values the contribution of APEC and pledged more active participation in CEO summit and other related activities of the APEC, said a Chinese official at a news briefing here Monday.
Yu Ping, vice chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said this year's CEO summit has set a very fitting theme: toward resilience and growth: reshaping priorities for global economy, and many major topics that are relevant to concerns of enterprises in the region, such as global economic system, innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises, connectivity and energy market.
He noted that 12 leaders of the member economies, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, addressed this year's CEO summit, an indication that they highly valued this forum.
Besides, this year's CEO summit attracted a record 1,200 participants, who came from a variety of different enterprises and discussed a wide-ranging topics. Many of them expressed the wish that China's economy would maintain sound and steady growth.
As host of CEO summit next year, he said China would draw on the experience of previous sessions, and take their success as a new starting point to story in preparing for next year's CEO summit.
The Chinese business community would take a more active part in the process of regional economic integration in the Asia and Pacific region through their participation in the summit, he said.
