DAVOS - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Friday with Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) during its annual event, expressing his hope for WEF to continue focus on and support Chinese reform process.

Wang said that China attaches great importance to WEF, and mentioned that Chinese Premier Li Keqiang published an article on Wednesday, the official opening day of Davos annual meeting this year, on WEF's official website entitled "Reshaping the world economy through reform, opening up and cooperation."

Wang noted that the cooperation between China and WEF has been going hand in hand with the process of Chinese reform and opening-up process, stressing that China enters a new phase of reform and opening-up since this year, and the new round of reform plans would have deep implications for the country and for the world.

Wang hoped that WEF would continue its attention and support to China, and show a true China to the world.

Schwab commended the long-term and friendly cooperation between his organization and China, and expressed gratitude for the Chinese authorities' consistant support.

The head of WEF said that the organization was willing to take an active part in the process of Chinese reform and opening-up and to engage in closer cooperations with Beijing.

The trip of the top Chinese diplomat to the snow-covered Swiss town followed his attendance at the high-level talks of Geneva II conference on Syria earlier this week in Montreux, south-west Switzerland.
