BEIJING -- A total of 221 million yuan ($35.8 million) has been donated for victims of Sunday's earthquake as of Tuesday afternoon, said China's Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Party committees and governments of 18 provincial regions have donated 143 million yuan to Yunnan. In addition, social organizations have donated 73.4 million yuan and materials worth 4.28 million yuan, the MCA said.
More materials from seven disaster relief reserve pools will arrive in the area on Thursday, said the ministry, adding that materials from the reserve pool in Kunming had arrived in the three counties of Ludian, Qiaojia and Huize, and civil authorities of those counties are organizing distribution.
The 6.5-magnitude quake on Sunday afternoon killed at least 410 people.
