The inextricably linked literary work and film has resulted in cross-border cooperation between the film and the publication in China, which has helped pave the way for the development of the publishing industry.
Last year after the Oscar nomination were announced, Wen Xin Press took the lead in publishing the novel in November, 2013, with Wu Chao as the translator. And another Chinese version published by Peking University Press will come out this month. Chang Fei is the translator.
The ties between the film and publishing industries have become more closely related. The issue of The Hunger Games is a good example. The film sparked book huge sales in the US and to date, global total sales have reached 87 million copies.
