So far, he has choreographed six works for the 9 Contemporary Dance Theater, including The Name of the Rose and Dreams of Zen.

According to Xu Wei, who founded the 9 Contemporary Dance Theater in 2010 and now serves as the director for the Cultural Center of Chao - yang District in Beijing, his enterprise serves as a platform for lovers of dance and talented dancers alike.

"We also have modern dance classes for people living in the neighborhood and perform in universities across the country. It is not just about the success of our theater but also about the attempt to make people connect better with this art form," Xu adds.
