Million yuan
The 82 central government departments saved more than 420 million yuan ($68 million) from expenses on public-funded vehicles, receptions and overseas trips last year, a reduction of 6.75 percent from the budget, according to figures released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday. The central government pledged earlier this year to slash 126 million yuan more from the same spending categories in a move to further live up to the new leadership's promise of being frugal.
