Prosecutors across China investigated 13,842 people in the first half of 2013 on suspicion of corruption that harmed individuals or the public interest. Prosecutors investigated 9,747 cases of bribery and embezzlement of public funds, involving a total of 1.77 billion yuan ($287 million), the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Monday.
