The China Railway Construction Corp revealed in March it spent 837 million yuan ($137 million) on receptions last year, leading to public outrage. Fifty-seven people involved have been criticized, eight were punished and one was transferred to judicial authorities for prosecution, said Qiang Weidong, who is in charge of disciplinary affairs at the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
