2. Formerly a place frequented by celebrities and dignitaries who defined the Middle Kingdom, the Writers Bar at Raffles Beijing is the only place in the capital that has served a traditional afternoon tea for almost a century. It has remained faithful to the classic combination of sandwiches, scones and crafted pastries complemented by a remarkable selection of handpicked loose-leaf Chinese tea. 258 yuan for one person; 328 yuan for two. Prices are subject to 15 percent service fee.
