Hong Kong
Pillow fight day
Just two Chinese cities have signed up for the 6-year-old global event where people of all ages engage in a frenzied pillow fight en masse. The Hong Kong event takes place in the heart of Central. Expect plenty of feathers to fly in this pajama-clad pummel-fest.
4 pm, April 5. Chater Garden, Chater Road, Central. 2013.pillowfightday.com.
Para Site conference
Para Site's international forum Is the Living Body the Last Thing Left Alive? (The new performance turn, its histories and its institutions) will explore the relationship between dance, performance and the institutions of global contemporary art. Contemporary dance has emerged as a new field of discourse and thinking over the past two decades and leading experts from Asia, Europe and the Americas will be on hand to discuss and dissect how dance has evolved into one of the leading art forms of the new millennium. The event is co-presented by the Asia Society Hong Kong Center and will also feature select performances.
2-7:30 pm, April 3 and 4. 11 am-7:30 pm, April 5. Free. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Hall, Asia Society Hong Kong Center, 9 Justice Drive, Admiralty. 852-2517-4620. Para-site.org.hk

Childish's solo show
The Lehmann Maupin gallery will present a Billy Childish solo exhibition, Edge of the Forest, featuring his most recent paintings, including large-scale portraits and landscapes painted in vivid hues and with frenetic marks on raw linen. These latest works draw inspiration from subjects close to his emotional and physical world: his immediate family, particularly his wife and young daughter, and his environment, including the riverscape viewed from his home. This is the British artist's first show in Hong Kong.
10 am-7 pm, weekdays, and 11 am-7 pm, Saturdays, until May 3. Lehmann Maupin, 407 Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central.

Go fly a kite!
March is a month made for these colorful man-made "birds", and two city parks offer a free chance to show your kids how to get airborne. (Big kids can play, too.) The Spacious Beijing Olympic Forest Park is also home to real birds, while the more urban Haidian Park still offers plenty of grassy expanse for kite fans - with easy access for baby strollers.
7 am-7 pm daily, free. Beijing Olympic Forest Park, 15 Beichen Donglu (East Road), Chaoyang district.

7:30 am-10 pm daily, free. Haidian Park, 2 Xinjiangongmen Lu (Road), Haidian district. 010-6285-0569.
