China must follow its own path
Comment on "China fully committed to democracy" (China Daily, Dec 9)
It's socialism with Chinese characteristics that has made China what it is today. China's own system has already proved a successful example, although it still needs some amendment and improvement for better governance.
China has its own path, and it should not follow either the Western system of democracy or its definition of democracy.

Only equity can reduce poverty
Comment on "End the vicious circle of poverty" (China Daily, Dec 10)
The vicious circle of poverty cannot be ended overnight. To end poverty or to reduce poverty, China has to establish economic equity.
Only equal participation and equity can help China achieve the final result. Poverty elimination, or at least reduction, depends on the redistribution reform.
