The State Council's project to improve shanty areas will benefit society, said an article in Beijing Youth Daily (excerpts below)
The State Council decided in June to invest in improving living conditions in shanty areas.
In the coming five years more than 10 million households will benefit from this project. This project will also drive the development and growth of peripheral industries and the construction of supporting facilities.
Governments at all levels will help and benefit from this project. It will also create more jobs, which will benefit society.
