The government should not ignore the digital gap while increasing broadband speed, said an article in the 21st Century Business Herald (excerpts below).
The State Council recently issued plans to increase the speed of broadband.
The improvement will promote the development of e-commerce, network finance and the other service sectors.
But the government should not ignore the other fields which are related to the project.
First, the government should take the opportunity to expand the Internet's coverage in rural areas.
Second, the government should promote online governance to improve the efficiency and fairness of its public services.
Third, the government should make the network better serve people's lives.
