The defending champion Guangdong Hongyuan had a 90-85 home victory over Zhejiang Chouzhou and have become so far the only undefeated team after six rounds of the CBA league.
Yi Jianlian scored 18 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and Joshua Powell had 17 points and 15 boards. Khalif Wyatt added 15 points and 8 assists. Zhu Fangyu and Zhou Peng combined with 22 points for Guangdong.
Thanks to Wang Zhelin's 27 points and 9 rebounds, Fujian SBS had a narrow home victory of 109-104 over Bayi Fubang. Bayi's veteran center Wang Zhizhi came off the bench at the second quarter and scored 15 points, but Bayi's eight turnovers in the third quarter helped Fujian lead 15 points with 12 minutes remaining. Bayi's efforts in the fourth quarter did not make the results reverse.
The Shanghai Sharks, which are owned by Yao Ming, made their third straight win by beating Jiangsu Dragons 84-78, with the help of Darnell Jackson's 23 points and 18 rebounds.
In other games, promoted Sichuan Jinqiang beat Shanxi Fenjiu 92-89, Shandong Gold defeated Foshan Long Lions 88-80, Liaoning Hengye topped Jinlin Northeast Tigers 114-89, Tianjin Ronggang downed Dongguan Marco Polo 105-101, and Xinjiang Guanghui had a 139-107 win over Qingdao Doublestars.
