Beijing wins without injured Marbury, Guangdong still unbeaten

BEIJING - Randolph Morris had 38 points and 13 rebounds to lift Beijing Ducks to a 98-95 home victory over Dongguan Marco Polo in the seventh round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.
Former NBA star Stephon Marbury, now playing for Beijing, missed the game due to injury.
Sun Yue finished with 15 points, 5 boards and 4 assists,the veteran Chen Lei contributed 4 three-pointers and Li Gen and Zhu Yanxi combined with 24 points for Beijing.
Marbury got injured in the game against Jiangsu Dragons on Nov 20, and the injury got worse in the following rounds. It is said he would probably go back to the US and receive medical threatment there.
The defending champion Guangdong Hongyuan remain unbeaten after seven rounds of the CBA league as they beat Tianjin Ronggang 97-95.
Five players of Guangdong scored double-digit points. Yi Jianlian led the Hongyuan with 22 points and 23 rebounds, Khalif Wyatt scored 25 points, Joshua Powell added 13 points and 9 boards and Zhu Fangyu and Liu Xiaoyu both finished with 10 points.
Guangdong gave Tianjin a 72-64 lead at the end of the third quarter but the lead reduced to 3 points in the 4th quarter. Thanks to Zhu Fangyu' s crucial free throw in the last few seconds, Guangdong had the opportunity to seek their eighth-straight win.
In other games, Jilin Northeast Tigers defeated Sichuan Jinqiang 90-66, Foshan Long Lions topped Zhejiang Chouzhou 111-108, Liaoning Hengye downed Shandong Gold 103-97, Shanghai Sharks beat Bayi Fubang 89-71, Xinjiang Guanghui had a 109-80 win over Jiangsu Dragons and Qingdao Doublestars finally notched their first win of the season after 6-straight loss by beating Shanxi Fenjiu 124-110.
In Tuesday's games, Zhejiang Guangsha beat Fujian SBS 120-87. Jonathan Gibson led the Zhejiang with 30 points and 10 assists and Johan Petro had 20 points. 18-year-old Li Jinglong, son of Zhejiang head Coach Li Chunjiang, made his CBA debut with 2 points and one rebound in nine minutes.
