Guangzhou beats Al-Ahly 2-0 at Club World Cup

AGADIR, Morocco - Guangzhou Evergrande of China beat Egyptian team Al-Ahly 2-0 in the Club World Cup on Saturday to set up a tough semifinal encounter against tournament favorite Bayern Munich.
After a scoreless first half at Agadir Stadium, Brazilian forward Elkeson put Guangzhou ahead four minutes after the break.
Argentine forward Dario Conca sealed the win with a second for Guangzhou in the 67th minute.
Guangzhou, the winner of the Asian Champions League, will play European champion Bayern on Tuesday.
Later Saturday, Raja Casablanca will count on extra support from the Moroccan home fans as it plays Mexico's Monterrey.
Formerly known as the Intercontinental Cup, the Club World Cup is being played in Africa for the first time.
