Creativity was stressed for this year's victory parade. The Military Band have written new and original compositions just for the parade. Furthermore, songs will be edited in accordance with the sound field of Tian'anmen Square to deliver the best performance possible. Metallic sounds of brass instruments will be highlighted as one of the new elements injected into classical compositions.

Zhang Haifeng, general commander of the band, said 12 meetings were held alongside composers to modify the parade music. "Some were edited nearly 30 times. We focused on the details of the details."
