Retail giant Carrefour signed six purchasing agreements with Chinese suppliers during an industrial fair in Dongguan, Guangdong province on Thursday.

Products range from fresh food, oil and grain, nutrition and beverages to home textiles and will be first sold in Carrefour stores in South China, according to sources.

The agreements, worth 143 million yuan ($23.03 million), were signed during the China Processing Trade Product Fair, which ends on Friday.

More orders are likely to be placed as Carrefour is still negotiating with domestic suppliers, according to the company.
