Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II, with its intriguing and humorous plots, is the most popular classic operetta in the world and a favorite for launching a new season or the New Year. Recreated by NCPA, this production shines with a crew composed of both celebrated Chinese and foreign professionals. British director Stephen Lawless directs this new version of Die Fledermaus, and Frank Philipp Schloessamn, the stage designer for Der Ring des Nibelungen at the 2010 Bayreuth Festival, is in charge of its stage design. The well-known Chinese comedian Chen Peisi performs in the operetta.
