The Janaceck Philharmonic Orchestra from the Czech Republic will perform at the Beijing Concert Hall on Oct 14.

The orchestra will play its popular repertoire, including Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, and Dvorak's Symphony No 9 From the New World, as well as Smetana's Vltava, which are two pieces from the orchestra's home country.

Established in 1954, the orchestra is one of the best in the Czech Republic. It's characterized by its full and deep sound, musical expression and technical maturity.

It's chief conductor and music director, Theodore Kuchar, is a strong advocate of great Czech composers. Under his baton, the orchestra tours abroad and records many works by Czech composers such as Dvorak and Smetana.

The event is at 7:30 pm on Oct 14, at the Beijing Concert Hall, at No 1 Beixinhuajie Street, Xicheng District.
