From June to August 2012, Hangzhou-based artist Yuan Yuan participated in the Glenfiddich Artists in Resi

dence Program in Dufftown, Scotland. The exhibition includes all the works created during the residency and some previous works. Yuan has established a Realist style of painting austere and somber architectural interiors, reinterpreting Classical techniques with Modern sensibilities. His work blurs the dichotomy between the real and the imagined, the tactile and the immaterial, and the individual and the collective.
