Angelina Jolie has been honored for her humanitarian work.

The Oscar-winning actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari in Baghdad on Saturday (15.09.12), where she was presented with a red box containing a symbolic gift.

During their meeting, mother-of-six Angelina urged Zebari to ensure Syrian refugees have enough supplies, and as part of her tour for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina has also met with displaced Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

She said during her visit to a refugee tent camp in Jordan: "I am grateful to Jordan and the border countries for saving the lives [of those] who are dying in Syria. It's an extraordinary thing. We encourage the international community to support the people here until one day they go back home."

Last week, Angelina was left in tears after visiting a Syrian refugee camp as she delivered a speech portraying her "concern" at the situation there.

Speaking with tears in her eyes, she said: "I am very concerned, the world is very concerned. What is very heartbreaking is when Syrian people ask you why you think no one is able to find a solution for them.

"What they described on the ground, hearing it from them is so horrific. When you meet so many innocent people and civilians, the people of Syria are asking who is on their side, 'Who is going to help us as the months go on?' "
