Feng wins first golf major for China

PITTSFORD, New York - Feng Shanshan won Chinese mainland's first golf major as she closed with a bogey-free five-under par 67 to claim the LPGA Championship on Sunday.

The 22-year-old from Beijing took her first career LPGA triumph by finishing 72 holes at Locust Hill Country Club on six-under 282.

Japan's Mika Miyazato, Norway's Suzann Pettersen, American Stacy Lewis and South Korean Ji Eun-Hee shared the second place on 284.

With the win at the year's second women's major, Feng moves to world number four.

Last year's winner and world number one Tseng Yani from Taiwan finished in a distant tie for 59th with a 13-over-par 301.
