LONDON - Belgian teenager Luca Brecel surprised all to reach the last eight of the snooker UK Championship in York on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old, ranked 74th in the world, came back from 3-0 down to beat Mark King. He will next take on former world champion Shaun Murphy.
Brecel, who turned professional in 2011, competed in the event as a wild card entry because of finishing outside the top 64.
Brecel said: "It's amazing, unbelievable. It was a great match for me. I was feeling very bad and I wanted to go home, but in the fourth frame everything changed.
"After the first frame I won, I gained in confidence. It was an amazing moment at the end."
