SOFIA -- China won the men's individual trampoline team title at the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships here on Friday evening.
The Chinese quartet of Tu Xiao, Dong Dong, Gao Lei and He Yuxiang gained a total of 177.555 points, followed by Russia with 171.180 points, and Australia with 126.390.
Gao Lei, who got the highest score of 59.940 points, told Xinhua that it was his first participation in the world championships and he was very satified with the performance.
"Our morale is the key for the success today. Although there is still gap between the performance in the final and our average level in the training, I am very proud of my team-mates," said Dong Dong.
Earlier on Friday evening, Britain captured the gold medal of the women's individual trampoline team event, overtaking Canada and Belarus, while China placed fifth after two serious mistakes.
On Saturday, three women's finals will be held, including double mini trampoline team, tumbling team and synchronised trampoline competitions, and also two men's finals -- double mini trampoline team final and tumbling team final.
Nearly 300 gymnasts from 39 countries participate in the competition ending on Sunday.
