Tao appointed as NBA China vice president

NBA China announced today that Raymond Tao has been appointed Senior Vice President, Global Marketing Partnerships, NBA China.

Tao will oversee league sponsorship and media revenue generation, new business development and partnership management throughout Greater China. He will report to David Shoemaker, CEO of NBA China. Michael Wandell, Vice President of Business Development responsible for business development and media sales activities, and Chad Biggs, Vice President of Marketing Partnerships responsible for partnership management, will report to Tao.

Tao comes to NBA China from Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, which he joined in 1993 and most recently served as President Ogilvy & Mather Advertising China responsible for leading the growth of the firm’s overall business. Between 2003 and 2009, Tao held the positions of Vice President and Executive Vice President and was charged with business development and managing accounts for major local and multinational corporations in China.
