On Nov 2, one week before China's national Election Day, four candidates running to become lawmakers or representatives of Bajiao Beili Community met voters at the community's activity center.

Candidates were asked to express their stances on establishing a canteen for seniors, educating seniors about the law and implementing anti-theft measures within the community.

Candidates gave campaign speeches, which were followed by a question and answer session.

The meet-and-greet is designed to help voter representatives understand the candidates' views on issues. It is required by law to be a part of the entire election process.

According to the head of the community's election committee, there are about 2,700 registered voters in Bajiao Beili Community. Most young voters registered at their workplaces, and senior citizens form the majority of the voters in the community.
