Picture tour— Redwood City, Ca Gong Jianhua (right), a Bay Area-based photographer, receives a certificate of recognition from David Canepa, vice-mayor of Daly City, California, at the opening reception for Gong’s photo exhibition Hello, Shanghai on Tuesday in Redwood City, California. The exhibition, which runs through May 26, presents nearly 40 photos that Gong took of Shanghai’s neighborhoods and ordinary people’s life from 1978 to 1995. Gong said he hoped the photos could help preserve the memories of old Shanghai as well as help Americans learn more about Chinese people’s lives during that time. Provided to China Daily |
