Chinese entrepreneur Jack Ma, founder of the Alibaba group, just became the richest man in China thanks to his company's record-breaking IPO-offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Now, his life story could be the subject of a movie, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Film producer Janet Yang expressed interest in setting up an international co-production focusing on Ma and his legendary life and career after screenwriter Bruce Feirstein presented her a script called Alibaba, the name of Ma's company.

On its first day of trading, Alibaba raised $21.8 billion in its initial public offering, valuing the company at $231.4 billion. Ma's fortune has been estimated at about $25 billion, according to the 2014 Hurun Rich List released earlier this week.

Yang, of Chinese descendent, has produced films such as The People vs. Larry Flynt and worked closely with China throughout her career. In 2012, she took part in the film Shanghai Calling starring South Korean heartthrob Daniel Henney.

Feirstein has written for James Bond movies such as 1995's Golden Eye and 1999's The World is Not Enough. He has also been working in China where he produced the film Red River in 2009.
