Liaoning Huishan Dairy Group Co Ltd (Huishan) unveiled its first infant formula milk powder product on Monday in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province. Sources said the regional diary products giant is seeking to go public in Hong Kong this year.
The infant formula has been jointly developed with Hero Group, the consumer goods giant from Switzerland.
"The milk powder is the first product in China that is from a fully controlled self-operated dairy farm," said Yang Kai, president of Huishan.
Full control means the company controls the whole production process, from alfalfa planting to the sale of the milk products, he said.
"Self-operated dairy farms are a trend in China's dairy industry development. Huishan is one the best in this area. All its products originate from its own feeding cows, which can guarantee the food safety and quality," said Song Kungang, president of the International Dairy Federation National Committee of China.
Founded in 1951, Huishan is the largest dairy producer in Northeast China. The company has three infant milk powder production bases with the design capacity to produce 160,000 metric tons per year.
