Macao's package tour arrivals up 8.6% in Nov

MACAO - Macao's visitor arrivals in package tours in November rose by 8.6 percent year-on-year to 853,991, according to figures released by the city's Statistics and Census Service Monday.
Visitors from the Chinese mainland (642,971), Taiwan (59,822) and the Republic of Korea (43,825) increased by 9.4 percent, 26.4 percent and 59.6 percent respectively, while those from Hong Kong (27,622) decreased by 25.2 percent, the figures indicated.
In the first 11 months of 2012, visitors in package tours (8,235,050) increased by 22.5 percent year-on-year, accounting for 32.2 percent of the total visitor arrivals, according to the DSEC.
Meanwhile, Macao residents traveling outbound in package tours soared by 109 percent year-on-year to 45,051 in November 2012, with the Chinese mainland (76.1 percent of the total), the Republic of Korea (5.7 percent) and Taiwan (4.9 percent of the total) being the most popular destinations.
