Macao hotel occupancy rate reaches 87.3% in Nov

MACAO - The average occupancy rate of Macao's hotels reached 87.3 percent in November, with four-star hotels leading at 90.1 percent, according to figures released by the city's Statistics and Census Service Monday.
In November 2012, the hotels and guest-houses received 839,080 guests, up by 7.5 percent year-on-year. The average length of guests' stay for the period decreased by 0.07 night to 1.4 nights.
At the end of November 2012, the total number of available guest rooms of the hotel sector increased by 16.7 percent year-on-year to 26,055 rooms, according to the DSEC.
In the first 11 months of this year, number of guests increased by 10.9 percent year-on-year to 8,642,379. Visitor-guests of the hotels and guest-houses accounted for 65.2 percent of the total number of tourists, higher than 62.1 percent in the same period of 2011, the DSEC said.
