Anheuser-Busch InBev will acquire Chinese Nanchang Asia Brewery Co Ltd, a leading brewery in Jiangxi province, the National Business Daily reported.
The Shanghai-based newspaper said AB InBev is going to acquire the Chinese company to penetrate into the Chinese middle and low-end beer markets.
AB InBev declined to comment.
"We do not comment on market speculation," said AB InBev China on Wednesday in a text message to China Daily.
Data from the Nanchang Wine and Spirits Industry Association showed that sales of beer in Nanchang can reach billions of yuan per year, of which middle and low-end products contribute over 80 percent.
